Each kind of flower symbolizes something. For example, the Rose symbolizes love. The Sunflower symbolizes dedication. The Snapdragon symbolizes graciousness. There are many more flowers of course and each one has a special symbolization. However, the one I want to talk about is the Lotus.  The lotus starts by rooting in the mud, and then it pushes through the water in order to bloom. Unlike all the other flowers that are planted in dry land and watered every day in order to grow. The lotus grows through the hardship of pushing through the muddy water in order to bloom.

The lotus flower represents patience and purity. “In Buddhist symbolism the lotus is symbolic of purity of the body, speech, and mind as while rooted in the mud, its flowers blossom on long stalks as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire…”

In order to be like the lotus flower we need to push through the hardships life throws at us. We need to push through, stand tall, accept our flaws, and accept the fact that we don’t need to be in the same pace as everyone else. The lotus isn’t like all the other flowers, yet it still blooms beautifully.

Whatever you’re going through, if it’s a break-up, family problems, financial problems, loneliness, depression, or whatever life is testing your patience with. You will get through it. Your time to bloom will come. You just need to be patient and endure a bit longer. Have faith in God that everything will work out. You won’t stay like this, life is full of opportunities and chances all you have to do is go out and find them.

A lotus flower blooms alone in a swampy pond. With that said, sometimes you will have to deal with your problems alone. You’ll have to get up in the morning, breathe, and say “I got this. I’m going to make it. This isn’t the end its just the beginning.” You’ll smile in the mirror, shake your head, a tear might drop, you’ll wipe it away, smile again and then…..You’ll face the day knowing things will get better as long as you don’t lose yourself. You can lose everyone in this world, but make sure you don’t lose yourself. “Just like the lotus, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness, and radiate into the world.” This quote says it all. Rise from the darkness and bloom out in the world. Be just like the lotus flower.

This post today is just a reminder to everyone out there facing hardships, to everyone out there who’s thinking of giving up, to everyone out there who thinks they can’t make. You will make it, you will get through it, you just can’t give up. Don’t ever give up. Today was a really bad day to me, I wanted to just trap myself in a room and not go out. I was thinking, “This is taking too long, I don’t think I’m ever going to make it.” Just like you guys, I also think about giving up sometimes. But you know, it’s not worth it. Life is beautiful. It really is. We just need to look a little deeper when we’re having bad days. Even if it’s just the smallest thing, hold on to it to make it through. Like today, I saw a piece of a tiramisu cake and I was like, “I’m going to keep going in order to be able to eat a tiramisu cake once in a while.” I saw a red bird in my balcony today and thought, “God is telling me he’s with me. This bird is a messenger. God thank you! I’ll be patient, please help me.” I know I’m crazy. But hold on to the smallest thing when you’re having a bad day and always remember God is always with you. Always. God will always help you, you just have to ask:) Again, be like the lotus flower. Bloom out of the darkness. 🙂
